Assignments for the Weeks of Nov. 9

This week will begin our discussion on the Persuasion and Argument Unit. We will also be discussing the issue paper. You will be picking out your topic for the issue paper by the end of the week. Details will be discussed in class. Below is a list of the other assignments and due dates for the week:

3 possible topics for issue paper due Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Typed chosen topic and opposing viewpoints due Friday, Nov. 13.

We will be doing the following this week:

  • viewing Stranger than Fiction on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday.
  • discussing the use of the 12 CP-A Ning for the reading discussion for a chosen memoir.
  • picking out a memoir to read.
  • beginning our own memoir.

Due Tuesday, Oct. 13: Finish the novel for today & have your voice of Holden essay revised for today's class if you did not hand it in on Friday.

Thursday, Oct. 15: End Test for The Catcher in the Rye

We will begin Stranger Than Fiction at the end of the week.

The Weeks of October 5 & 12

Due Monday, Oct. 5: Chapters 8-13 of The Catcher in the Rye
Due Wednesday, Oct. 7: 50 point final essay using any rough draft writing assignment from the first half of the year is due today. Remember...it is to be written as a college essay response. Rough drafts must be handed in with the final draft or you will be penalized a letter grade.
Due Friday, Oct. 9: Chapters 14-20 of The Catcher in the Rye and the 20 point rough draft of the essay using the voice of Holden (Choice 1: Object, Choice 2: Color, or Choice 3: Fairy tale)
Due Tuesday, Oct. 13: Finish the novel for today
Thursday, Oct. 15: End Test for The Catcher in the Rye
