Photo Story Project:
We will be working on the Photo Story Project during the week of May 4. I will provide you with the necessary details to complete this project. The Microsoft Photo Story Tutorial website is http://drscavanaugh.org/digitalcamera/photostorytelling/storytelling_PhotoStory.htm . I would like to present the Phot0 Story Projects during the Week of May 11. Work diligently in the computer lab & you should have no problem completing it on time.
50 Point Final Definition Essay:
This is a definition essay. Therefore, you purpose is to define. You may use other modes to help you define. The final paper will be due on Thursday, May 14. *(Note change in due date) You may choose from the list below for the 50 point definition essay:
1. Please see me if you are thinking about doing the visual essay or the tattoo of the product that defines you. This entails more work than the rough drafts that you completed. Some of you do not have enough details to qualify this to be used as a 50 point essay.
2. Mimic "I Want a Wife" essay. This may include an "I Want a Husband" essay as a rebuttal to the "I Want a Wife" essay. You may also do something along the lines of "I Want a Boyfriend/Girlfriend." Keep in mind the purpose of the "I Want a Wife."
3. "The Company Man" defines a workaholic through a story. Can you think of a word you can define through a story? Come to me with your idea before you begin this one.
4. Using your own experiences as examples, write an essay modeled on Nylor's "The Meanings of a Word." Pick any word that the meaning varies with context. Another option for this essay is to think of other labels that may be defined in more than one way. This may include smart, childish, old-fashioned, artistic, proud, attractive, heroic, and so on. Choose one such label, and write an essay providing all of the different definitions for the word. Be sure to explain the contexts for each definition and to give enough examples so that the meanings are clear.
